The Department of Digital Media and Communication of the Ionian University is a modern Department that combines the science of Communication with Information and Communication Technologies. Communication using Digital Media is an interdisciplinary field that has shown great growth in recent years, as the rapid increase in the use of the Internet and social media has introduced new forms of communication. The Department of Digital Media and Communication is based in Kefalonia and specifically in its capital, Argostoli.

The Department of Digital Media and Communication has a modern eight-semester (four-year) undergraduate program of study. Since the academic year 2020-2021, the Department has been operating a Master’s Program in “New Media and Digital Marketing” with directions (a) Digital Marketing, and (b) Internet Communication and Content Creation. Also, the Department regularly offers positions for doctoral studies in research areas related to its core subject. It is worth noting that more than twelve PhD Candidates are enrolled in our Doctoral program.

The members of the Department have intense research activity in many subjects that relate to the interests of the Department while maintaining collaborations with many other University Departments in Greece and abroad.
